Beach Day...In January

We are having some absolutely beautiful weather in LA right now. I am totally one of those people who complains about the lack of seasons, blah blah but I'm getting over that when we have weekends like this. I'll admit, one of the perks of living in LA is that we pretty much have nice weather year round - we went to the beach in shorts and a tshirt in January.

We decided to take advantage of the warm, sunny weather and spent a lot of time outside this past weekend. We took Henry for a walk on the beach and when we were done we let him play in the sand for a little bit. This was really his first time on the beach (he dipped his toes in the stand in Maui but was really too young to do much else). Well, he was a fan. He had fun letting it run through his fingers, crawling around in it and eating it (oops)! Here are some pics from his first visit to the beach. Many, many more visits to come!

Surveying the scene before digging in.
 And he goes for it.
 Having fun playing with it.
 Right before the face plant...
 and right after.
 Mmmm... yummy sand.

And this was how our fun, warm day ended. There may be a number of things we don't care for in LA, but we do like living by the beach.

Holiday Picture Roundup

This is overdue but figure new pics of the little boy are always enjoyed no matter when they were taken.

We had a wonderful holiday season - spent both Thanksgiving and Christmas in Sacramento. Got to take some extra days off of work and really enjoy some extended time with family and friends. Brendan and I even got a little date time in thanks to grandparents babysitting.

As expected, Henry was totally spoiled at Christmas. We all had so much fun having a little one around for all the holiday fun.

Thanksgiving

Uncle Greg and Uncle Skyler showing Henry how to crawl. He mastered it soon after.

His first real food (other than rice cereal) - butternut squash made by dad. He took a couple bites but wasn't too sure about it.
We took a little trip to Apple Hill the day after Thanksgiving.

Christmas
Daddy brought this back from the UK (hence the British spelling)

 He loved the wrapping paper!
Cool car from Auntie Amy and Uncle Greg!

Christmas morning! Playing with new toys and Oliver.
 Opening his gift from Santa.
Again, more interested in the wrapping paper than the present.

We torture all our children equally :)

Catching Up

Hi again and Happy New Year! It's been a little while...we have lots of fun updates. Henry is crawling all the time and all over the place. He is pulling him self up and standing. He is very talkative. He is our little explorer - so curious and always checking everything out. We are having so much fun right now.

Pictures from the holidays and other fun stuff to come. These are pics from a photo shoot we did when he was 6 months old. Same photographer who did his newborn shoot.
