Sunday Funday

This past weekend we ventured up to Topanga Canyon with some of our friends from our "Parent & Me" class to see a family concert in a very pretty outdoor amphitheater. Henry really loves music and he really enjoyed the show. He was captivated by the band, just standing and staring at them for the first half. He would get really excited and clap after each song was done. Then he got closer to check them out, dance and even got to play the singer's guitar after the show.

Pool Party

June gloom is over. Warm weather means water play for Henry. And the dogs because Henry loves throwing the ball for his "deedees."

Parent & Me Class

Almost every Thursday evening since Henry was five months old we have been attending a "Parent & Me" class. (I call it that because it was a working moms group that a lot of dads ended up attending, including Brendan). It was really nice to be with other working moms and talk about what was going on with our babies, ask questions, etc. It was also great socializing for Henry. It was a relatively small group and the kids are all within a few months of each other, so we have all really seen each others kids grow and change. In fact, Henry took his first real steps at class one night in front of everyone. Definitely something we are happy we did down here in LA as it's been a good way to make friends. These pictures are from the last class. We will be starting up a new class in September with most of the same kids.

Some of the babies. One of the dads bought his guitar and started singing. About the only way we could get them to sit still.

Henry's favorite toy in the class room. Loved going up and down the stairs.

Our attempt to get a group shot. Much easier when the babies were younger.

One of the dads put together a little video of the kids when they were listening to the music:

Spoon

Henry has always had an interest in holding a spoon while he eats but this week he actually started using it to feed himself. One night he wouldn't let me feed him so I handed him the spoon and he started doing it himself. This video is a couple of nights later. He's really getting the hang of it and we are getting used to the mess...
